Events & Projects

What does Kiwanis do?

Each club is encouraged to create service projects that address the unique needs of their individual communities. Our current and ongoing projects include:

  • Horses & Handicapped physical therapy
  • Adopt-a-Turkey for Thanksgiving
  • Adopt-a-Family for Christmas
  • Scholarship Fund for local student leaders
  • Play Days crafting and educational programs
  • Christmas in July for Broward's homeless children
  • Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society
  • PC/Laptop refurbishing for donation to students & families

Other projects include book drives, diaper dumps, street/beach cleanups, disaster relief, outreach, and others as needs come to our attention. Do you have idea for a project in your community? Come to Kiwanis to have it come to life!

How does Kiwanis do it?

Our members work hard to create fun and engaging ways to raise funds for our projects and scholarships. We have done pancake breakfasts, casino nights, gift card raffles, carnivals, and golf tournaments. All funds raised stay in our community - EVERY LAST CENT! Membership dues are our only source of operating income and allow us to get support from Kiwanis International, provide insurance for all of our events, produce the Kiwanis magazine, attend workshops and conventions to learn about new ways to serve our neighbors. We are also a part of the Miramar/Pembroke Pines Regional Chamber of Commerce, giving us a way to network with local businesses and spread the love for service.
